Health Clinic Project
The health clinic will serve a population of 3000 people. The nearest health clinic to Muguna is 20 miles and the 150-bed district hospital is 30 miles. FOY’s goal is to educate and provide the community with basic healthcare.
PROPOSED SERVICES INCLUDE:
- Curative medical care
- Preventive medicine
- AIDS testing
- Supply of medicines
- Nutrition
- Basic healthcare workshops
OBJECTIVE
- To ensure a ongoing curative medical care in the health clinic, mainly in the fight against malaria, tuberculosis, respiratory and intestinal infections, AIDS and malnutrition.
- To promote preventive medicine through prenatal consultation: monitoring and assistance for pregnant women, post-natal consultation including monitoring of child growth and development, screening of malnourished infants, administer vaccination programs.
- To improve children food safety. The children in Muguna primary should have access to adequate food nutrition. Educate the community on ways to utilize their harvest for better food selection for the children.
- To contribute to the training of local nursing students, and other medical personnel to operate the clinic. Also to ensure continuous training.
- To participate in the supply of medicine, medical and educational public health materials, sanitary towels for the girls and office supplies.
HOW TO YOU CAN HELP:

- Donate money toward the clinic construction, health education program, medicine etc.

Community Health Project to be completed in phases:
Phase I:
i) Extensive Health Care needs assessment in partnership with government health workers
ii) Basic Public Health Training
iii) Distribution of Hygiene Kits
Phase II:
i) Upgrade the health clinic facility
ii) Stock clinic with medical supplies
iii) Train local mid-wives to be local health care personnel
iv) Coordinate volunteer humanitarian trip for nurses & doctors
Phase III:
i) Setup clinic for regualr patient visits
ii) Train more health care personnel
iii) Coordinate volunteer humanitarian trip for nurses & doctors
